8 PEOPLE CHARGED WITH DRUNK DRIVING IN NEVADA

An operation by Henderson police has resulted in the arrests of eight people arrested under the suspicion of intoxication. The operation, known as Joining Forces, was funded in part by the Nevada Department of Public Safety – Office of Traffic Safety. The crackdown was instituted between April 25 and May 9 and led to a number of other charges filed in addition to drunk driving.

Enforcement efforts of this type typically involve blocking off roadways for RIDE-style programs intended to screen for drunk drivers. However, some 330 tickets were handed out to 281 drivers in total, including citations for speeding, lack of insurance and driving with a suspended license, among others. Eight people were also arrested for drunk driving.

Generally speaking, when a driver is suspected of being intoxicated, a roadside sobriety test is administered, and if the driver fails to pass the test, the individual may face arrest. The specifics of the eight arrests conducted in Henderson were not reported. However, it has been made clear that the charges filed as part of Joining Forces will be addressed in Nevada criminal courts.

Crackdowns of this type typically involve a large number of officers processing many, many drivers over the course of the operation. Since screening for drunk driving is hardly a precise science, the volume of drivers and officers involved may contribute to errors in the screening process. Those in Nevada who are accused of drunk driving typically benefit by retaining defense counsel who will take into consideration the possibility of roadside test errors, as well as any possible infringement upon the rights of the accused.

Skillful Defense Against Any Type Of PCS Or Marijuana Possession Charge

My only concern is securing the best available result for each client I serve. I am diligent If you are found in possession of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana, a medication for which you have no doctor's prescription, club drugs or drug paraphernalia, I will present the strongest possible case to show that the drugs were not yours or that the police had no grounds to perform the search that led to the discovery of the drugs.

If the prosecution has compelling evidence in your case, I will pursue every available option in an effort to avoid a conviction on your record. Depending on the circumstances surrounding your case, it may be possible negotiate 3363 treatment that would allow for your case to be dismissed after you complete court-ordered classes or drug treatment.
